Who am I?

Jordyn Smith is a mezzo-soprano who enjoys performing in a variety of vocal styles. She recently earned her Master’s degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. During her time there, she sang with the choir at Our Lady Queen of Angels, performing advanced sacred choral repertoire, and was a chorister in Mozart’s Requiem with the Rapides Symphony Orchestra.

Her performance experience includes roles with the UL Opera Theater such as Helena in The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Julia Child in Lee Hoiby’s Bon Appétit. In addition to performing, Jordyn is passionate about teaching and has worked with voice students across all levels—from elementary school through college. She applies a classical foundation in her teaching and strives to guide singers on their vocal journey with care and intention.

Jordyn values creating an inclusive environment in both her teaching and repertoire choices. In alignment with these values, she has spent the past year curating a diverse and inclusive selection of art songs suitable for beginner and intermediate singers.
